Our History

1990

Dneprovsky Integrated Iron&Steel Works PJSC (Ukraine) and Winkvip Industrial Products Inc. (Canada) create a joint venture DDAP-RAX as a railway axle manufacturer to supply axles to the North American market.

1991

DDAP-RAX is certified to the AAR Specification for Quality Assurance, M-1003, and recorded in the AAR Registry of M-1003 Certified Facilities with the QA Code: QA-DDAP.

The “DDAP” is an abbreviation for the consortium of two legally independent companies – Dneprovsky Integrated Iron&Steel Works axle rolling-mill (rolling billets and heat treatment) and DDAP-RAX Ltd. (machining, quality control, protection of the ends, packaging and shipping).

During the first 3 years, DDAP-RAX is producing axles with rough machined surface treatment with a copying lathe.

1993

DDAP-RAX installs the first CNC lathe for finishing the ends and the body of an axle and introduces ultrasonic testing of axles in accordance with the AAR M-101 requirements.

2000

The production of semi-finished axles for Ukrainian, Georgian, and CIS railroads is started.

2010

In 2010 for successful operation of the company DDAP-RAX marked with the award – a diploma in the nomination “Company of the Year – 2010”.

2012

DDAP-RAX manufactures its 1,000,000th axle.

Our History

2016

DDAP-RAX is certified to EN 13261:2009+A1:2010 standard and starts to produce and supply railcar axles to the EU.

2019

DDAP-RAX Engineering Department designs a project for axle end holes performance line installation.

2020

The first axles with holes on ends are manufactured successfully.

2021

After obtaining a Certificate of Conformity for production of the finished axle РУ1Ш (drawing 1711.10. 001) by the Conformity Assessment Body SE “DOSZT” in May and receiving a Conditional Number for marking products in accordance with the established procedure for marking of the finished axles: “2429” in July, DDAP-RAX started to produce and supply finished axles to Ukrainian Railcar builders.

2022

DDAP-RAX received Certificates of Compliance of the finished axles BA 002 (axle 23.5t) and BA 302 (axle 25t) with the requirements of COMMISSION REGULATION (EC) № 321/2013 of 13 March 2013 concerning the technical specification for interoperability relating to the subsystem “rolling stock – freight wagon” of the rail system in the European Union. The certification audit was conducted by Výzkumný Ústav Železniční, a.s. (VUZ), Prague, Czech Republic.

Also, the attestation of finished axles for passenger railcars is fulfilled in one of EU Railways and the first order is delivered.

2023

DDAP-RAX, as a manufacturer of finished axles (product code B33-7), has successfully completed certification for compliance with AAR standards: M-1003, M-101, and G-II.

2024

In March 2024, DDAP-RAX shipped finished wagon axles for the first time, manufactured in accordance with AAR standards: M-1003, M-101, and G-II.
